2016 Racing Schedule

Here is your 2016 Racing Schedule from Fleet Captain Eric Mueller. Plan to join us for a fun year of racing.

Everyone is encouraged to joins us for some or all of the races. We have a couple of experienced volunteer coaches who can come out on your boat before you join us to help show you how easy and fun it can be. We are also going to start an after race fun write up so you can see what actually happens. Hopefully we can get everyone to chip in lots of good stories.

Thank you,
Eric Mueller

For 2016 we will continue using adjusted ratings by boat started at the Nationals Regatta in 2014 that have resulted in very tight corrected finishes with only seconds between boats.

We are using a modified low point system to encourage more people to join us with one point for first two for second, on down the line. Did Not Finish (DNF) is equal to number of starters for the race plus one. Did Not Start (DNS) is equal to number of boats entered plus two. Each participant is allowed two throw outs for the season, the first being counted after 5 races and the seocnd after 7.

The ratings will be:

Rating adjustments for 2016: (Subject to further refinement before and during the season as needed.)
Fixed 2 blade prop = +10 sec/mi
Fixed 3 blade prop = +15 sec/mi
Largest headsail 115% or smaller = +6 sec/mi
Largest headsail 140% or higher = -6 sec/mi
Tall rigs = -6 sec/mi
Non-Spinnaker - allowance TBD
Roller furling - allowance, if any, TBD
Boat weight - no allowance for weight difference for 2016
