Raven

Hi Rick, Season's Greetings!

The shot of the "RAVEN" was taken in the MACLEAY RIVER, South West Rocks, NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, a couple of months ago. The 2 added coastal shots are taken from the light house, looking South and North respectively, near the entrance to the Macleay R. The shot of RAVEN added with this email is at, PORT MACQUARIE, NSW, AUST. Here's a link to a Google map: http://goo.gl/maps/7rMEl

The self-steering is by HYDROVANE, this is a completely independent bit of kit. It has its own rudder (doubles as spare pending main rudder failure), you balance the boat on course, lock the main rudder, then activate the hydrovane. The cord attached is for course change. So long as the wind is constant, the course is straight. It just works!!!!

The Motorised Scooter is from extremetoys.com.au, 50cc gas engine, 2 gears, disk brakes, 35mph. Dangerous but FUN!!!!!

The bunk head board locks into place by design, but I added 3 screws when I fitted the chart table seat, now very stable. I mostly sail single handed, but every now and then have a visitor, so 3 screws, and the double bunk is in place!

All The Best for 2013,

Yours Dave Muller
